About Me:

I got desperate about my weight in Jan 2012 and started my process of transformation. This may sound strange, but I was so tired of dieting programs, I turned to God to tell me what to do and I only did as He directed me.

The first year I started taking a walk everyday, drinking more water, eating more fiber, eating less refined sugars and eating a daily salad.

The second year I learned how to make those things into solid habits, but I've lacked the commitment to reducing my food intake and more strenuous exercise.

2014 is year three and I'm in a place where I'm ready to build upon this foundation. My goal is to lose 100 pounds by counting calories and getting strong.

Why I Want to Get in Shape:

I'm noticing certain personal health issues that are directly related to my gaining weight. I'm not going to make a list here, but this is my main motivation for wanting to get thin and healthy.

We started taking family hikes a couple years ago to be more active and do more things as a family. Our hikes (walks) are usually under 3 miles and under 300 feet elevation gain...I want to be able to do a hike with the word "ridge" in the title!

In Nov 2013, we visited a lighthouse with 137 steps...as it turned out, the tower was closed. I was silently grateful, I knew I wouldn't be able to climb up OR down all those stairs. When I lose 100 pounds, I'm going to visit that lighthouse when it's OPEN!

My Inspirations:
•Turn around my declining health
•Desire to be more active outdoors with my family
•Stop allowing my weight to determine my activity level
•Want more freedom to be more physically active in my life
